2 Weeks of Progress

Whoops, forgot to post last week. I'm happy to report that even though I'd been feeling live I've hit a little plateau, or at least a wall in my motivation/discipline, the scale still shows good things. I lost .3 pounds last week, and then this week the scale was down another 1.9 pounds. Hooray!

I think the motivation problem stems from 2 things... first, I've been getting a little bored with some of my meals lately, so now I'm making an effort to try some more new things. And, second, we had 2 special occasions at work last week so I had a bad lunch, and then cupcakes 2 days in a row. And darn those cupcakes -- cuz I can go without sweets for a long time, but once you take a bite, it just makes you want MORE. So I was a bit dissatisfied with my healthy little snacks after eating the sugary-buttery-fatty goodness of 2 cupcakes. But, I've moved on and am doing better again. Thankfully the scale was forgiving!

I've definitely eased up on many things over the course ofm y diagnosis but one thing I haven't let go of is my ban on non-Splenda desserts. Like you, I find tasting real sugar to be addictive and hard to control. As it turns out, sugar really is a kind of drug.

Yeah, DCFB, it was really astounding how immediate the effect of that sugar craving was. Scary. Cuz I really really could've sat down and eaten an entire cake afterwards... and that's not something I'd ever want to do!
